I like summer too, but I don't get along with the Asian climate.

I prefer to be on the dyke, where there can also be storms. That clears the lungs.
And the smell of smoked fish in the fishing port. Oh delicious.
I also like the flair between old town, modern town, country and city. A mixture you won't find anywhere else.
The Sail, the major event that takes place every 5 years, attracts up to 2 million people from all over the world to the city of 130,000 inhabitants.
Bremerhaven is something special. Despite the weak economy, Bremerhaven has a lot to offer and has attracted a lot of interest from all over Germany and the world.
We have a university, a hotel that looks like the burj al arab in Dubai and a first-class ice hockey team "Fischtown Pinguine". Very famous people have also visited here. Queen Elisabeth the 2 and her husband Philip. And before that, Elvis Presley also arrived at the quay.
It's not for nothing that you'll find the Auswandererhaus (immigration and emigration museum) and the Klimahaus (climate museum), two attractions you don't often find.
And as an American woman who has lived here for 11 years says, the North Germans are not as cold and uncaring as you might think.
We're funny, nice, and can also deliver some harsh remarks from time to time.
Bremerhaven is also a location that is crucial for Germany as an export power. Next to Hamburg, we are the largest container and car terminal in Europe. In the port alone, up to 200,000 cars are parked on the premises of the Bremer Logistic Gesellschaft.
Bremerhaven was founded in 1827 from Bremen. Because the Weser in Bremen was silting up more and more, a new port was needed.
Bremerhaven is also an exclave of Bremen. Bremen is the smallest federal state in Germany. And with the Bremen Town Hall it has one of the oldest town halls with 600 years of history.

And a little tip, if you are on holiday in Bremen. If someone greets you with Moin, answer back with Moin and you'll be one of them. Moin is a North German greeting. It means something like "hello".
But never say Moin twice, that's forbidden in Bremen. That belongs more to Hamburg.
